Auerbach Associates is pleased to announce that Rice University has appointed Lyn Ragsdale as Dean of the School of Social Sciences.

Ragsdale holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Wisconsin, and began her academic career at the University of Arizona. There, she served for 19 years, including time spent as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in Washington, as an honors professor for the Arizona-Iowa Consortium Study Abroad Program in London, and as a fellow for the Russell Sage Foundation in New York.

Dean Ragsdale also served for four years as editor of Political Research Quarterly, and for one year as president of the Western Political Science Association. She comes to Rice from the political science department of the University of Illinois-Chicago.
